A major construction project has been taking place in the South Bronx. The Third Avenue Bridge is being completely rebuilt. If you travel South from the Bronx into Manhattan, you're very familiar with this favorite toll free route across the Harlem River. The volume of traffic across this bridge is considerable. The city has managed to remove the old bidge, maintain a temporary bridge, which by the way is nicer than the old bridge, and is getting ready to install the prefabricated turning drawbridge without causing massive traffic chaos.[unrelated:Photobloggers 2 event will be held Sept. 30.]
