Went to the Brooklyn Museum to see Anne Lebovitz's exhibition. You are not allowed to shoot in the featured shows. I'll have to return to see Swoon's full exhibit. This was just a taste. This piece caught my eye because it reminds me of a shot I took some 30 years ago. I'll have to dig through the archives to find it.
Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass has become a cultural center in Brooklyn and with it the foibles of gentrification as noted by Gothamist.
Walking along Houston Street from the East Side to the West Side is one of the best ways to grasp the scope of the violent change that NYC is going through. Spitting distance from these images, Trump towers and Avalon apartments, are being erected at record paces. More and more lots with peices of former glories, like in the third shot are popping up all over the neighborhood.
